ALMOND, Judge.

R. Neumann & Co. appeals from a decision of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board which dismissed appellant’s; *800opposition1 to application2 by Bon-Ton Auto Upholstery, Inc., appellee, for registration of the term “VYNAHYDE” as a trademark for plastic film and plastic film made into furniture slip covers. Use since August 30, 1955 was alleged.

Appellant alleged in its notice of opposition that “hide” is the common descriptive name for the whole pelt from a large animal, such as a cow or horse; that the term “hyde” is the phonetic equivalent of “hide” and that said term as applied to…
