Nilesh Patel pled guilty to count three of a four-court superseding indictment, which charged him with conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute approximately 39 kilograms of cocaine. Patel and the government then presented evidence over three days addressed to certain disputed issues under the United States Sentencing Guidelines.
