Plaintiffs, automobile purchasers, sought damages from defendants, an automobile dealer and its owner, in an action for conversion, arising out of the repossession of the two automobiles plaintiffs purchased under retail installment contracts. The trial court awarded damages that exceeded the amount of plaintiffs’ equity interest in the fair market value of the automobiles and the amount of consequential damages established by the evidence.
