{¶ 1} Plaintiff-appellant, Kevin Knoefel, appeals the Judgment of the Lake County Court of Common Pleas, granting the defendants' Motion for Summary Judgment based on collateral estoppel with respect to Counts Nine through Fifteen of his malpractice Complaint. The issue before this court is whether collateral estoppel bars a plaintiff from raising malpractice claims arising out of representation in a criminal case where there has been a direct appeal from the convictions raising the issue of ineffective assistance of counsel.
