The Wilderness Society and seven other organizations filed this lawsuit against the Secretary of the Interior, the Bureau of Land Management (“BLM”), and the Fish and Wildlife Service (“FWS”) challenging the decision by the Secretary to conduct oil and gas leasing in an area of the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (“NPR-A”). Plaintiffs filed a motion for partial summary judgment on Counts II through IV, VII and VIII of their first amended complaint, arguing that the Environmental Impact Statement violates the National Environmental Policy…
