These three appeals, consolidated for decision here, arose from separate actions *270brought by Lyle Smith and Shayne Linderman, two grain farmers, against a warehouse corporation, its directors and purported statutory trustees, and its surety for an alleged conversion of grain placed in storage. Following special jury verdicts finding for the plaintiff farmers and entry of judgment, the district court granted the defendants’ motions for a new trial unless the plaintiffs would accept remittiturs.
