hThe defendant, Harold D. Brown, was formally charged by bill of information with domestic abuse battery-strangulation, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:35.3(L), and cruelty to a juvenile, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:93. Following a jury trial, the defendant was found guilty of the responsive verdicts of domestic abuse battery (LSA-R.S. 14:35.3) and attempted cruelty to a juvenile (LSA-R.S. 14:27 and 14:93).
