LAY, Circuit Judge:

Dr. Harry W. Snyder, Jr., Ph.D., and his wife, Renee Peugeot, appeal their convictions and the sentences imposed after they were found guilty of mail fraud, making false statements to the Food and Drug Administration, and conspiring to commit offenses against the United States. Snyder was employed as a Vice-President of Clinical Development at BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a small, publicly-traded pharmaceutical company concerned with the development of synthetic drugs.
