The Town of Poughkeepsie, hereinafter referred to as the Town, located in the County of Dutchess, State of New York, is a duly organized municipal corporation with two Town Justices who conduct Criminal Terms of Justice Court, which involve individuals arrested for Penal Law violations committed within its jurisdiction. The Town of Poughkeepsie does not have jail facilities for persons incarcerated pending disposition of their cases and, therefore, after arraignment, it transports prisoners to the Dutchess County Jail for incarceration pending a further…
