OPINION

GOLDBERG, Justice.

This case came before the Supreme Court on a petition for writ of certiorari filed by the petitioner, Myles Glatter (Glat-ter or petitioner), a licensed clinical social worker engaged in the practice of psychological counseling who specializes in counseling clients with sexual abuse issues. On April 28, 1997, Glatter was served with a subpoena duces tecum ordering him to disclose to a statewide grand jury “any and all records and notes of counseling sessions and meetings” that he had undertaken with a client.
