On June 27, 2003, following his ouster (in circumstances we need not describe in detail) from an apartment in which he had been living, Addison filed an “application for a temporary restraining order,” accompanied by an affidavit, in the Housing Court. The same day, a judge, without acting on the application, continued the matter until June 30, 2003, for an evidentiary hearing. Both parties participated in the evidentiary hearing.
