Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Rensselaer *1003County (McGrath, J.), entered January 10, 1997, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crime of sexual abuse in the first degree.

Defendant was indicted on three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Following a trial at which defendant proceeded pro se, he was convicted of one count of sexual abuse in the first degree and sentenced as a second felony offender to a prison term of 3V2 to 7 years.
