Plaintiff brought this action to recover damages for personal injuries sustained by her on Saturday, September 27,1952, at about 11:30 in the morning, due to a fall on a moving escalator which was located at the Journal Square station in Jersey City, New Jersey. The defendant Pennsylvania Railroad Company, (hereinafter designated as “ Pennsylvania ”) owned the station and had leased it to the defendant Hudson & Manhattan Railroad Company (hereinafter designated as “Hudson”).
