The State Corporation Commission, pursuant to the provisions of Code §6.1-13, granted the State Bank of the Alleghenies a certificate of authority to begin business as a state-chartered bank in the City of Covington, Virginia. The Covington National Bank, First National Bank of Clifton Forge, Mountain National Bank (Clifton Forge) and First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Clifton Forge intervened in the proceeding before the Commission and opposed approval of the proposed bank.
