This is a direct appeal from a conviction of rape (K.S.A. 21-3502). The facts in the case were essentially undisputed, since the victim of the rape testified that defendant raped her in her apartment and defendant presented no evidence to the contrary. The victim was a 37-year-old commercial artist. Defendant was 28. The defendant and his victim had been acquainted for about ten years.
