The petition, answer and reply in this case were filed in the Circuit Court of Crawford County, Missouri, but the case went to Howell County, thereafter, on change of venue. The time for filing transcript was extended.

The suit was for slander and libel. The original petition was in nine counts. The jury returned a verdict for plaintiff, (now respondent) on the first count of the petition, equally for compensatory and punitive damages, in the sum of $800.00, and a like sum, on the second, fourth, fifth and seventh counts.
