On Sunday morning, January 8, 1933, some four or more men, seeking to wreak violence and death upon the family and iumat.es of the home of Will Smith, situated on Lost Fork of Elkhorn creek, Clay county, Ky., took positions some one hundred yards or more distant from the home on the opposite hillside, where, from under cover of its broom sage and bushes, they fired some twenty-five or thirty shots into the Smith home.
