JAMES C. FOX, District Judge.

Plaintiffs, four black civilian employees and one black former employee of the Unit*317ed States Army at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, initiated this action pursuant to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-16 et seq. The case is before the court on plaintiffs’ motion for class certification pursuant to Fed.R.Civ.P. 23.
