MEMORANDUM & ORDER

GLASSER, District Judge.

This car-accident case previously was referred to arbitration. Plaintiffs’ counsel, 1 allegedly due to an inadvertent scheduling conflict, failed to appear at the arbitration hearing, and the arbitrator subsequently ruled in favor of the defendants. After the arbitrator’s award was entered on the docket, plaintiffs requested a trial de novo. That request is presently before the Court. Defendants object to plaintiffs’ request, and also seek the dismissal of this case (or the imposition of sanctions) pursuant to Rule 37 of the Federal Rules of Civil…
