ENGLAND, Justice.

A jury convicted Judy A. Davidson of second-degree arson, and the trial court sentenced her to 15 years’ imprisonment on that conviction. The Court of Criminal Appeals affirmed that conviction and sentence. Davidson v. State, 792 So.2d 1153 (Ala.Crim.App.1998). This Court granted Davidson’s petition for a writ of certiorari in order to examine her claim that the trial court’s denial of her motion, made pursuant to Batson v. Kentucky, 476 U.S. 79, 106 S.Ct. 1712, 90 L.Ed.2d 69 (1986), was clearly erroneous and her claim that the evidence presented by the State at her trial was…
