On August 5, 1997, George Porter was charged by a three count bill of information with attempted second degree murder, attempted aggravated rape, and attempted aggravated crime against nature. Porter pled not guilty at arraignment. At a hearing on February 4, 1998, the trial court denied defendant’s motions to suppress the evidence, statements and identification and found no probable cause as to attempted aggravated rape. On June 29, 1999, the trial court denied defendant’s motion for continuance, and trial commenced. On June 30, 1999, the jury found defendant guilty…
