In August, 1908, Pacific Franckey and Minnie Franckey were arrested under a warrant issued by a justice of the peace of Bureau county, upon a complaint charging them with keeping a house of ill fame in violation of section six of the ordinances of the city of Spring Valley. By agreement between the city attorney and the parties the Franckey case and several other cases in which the defendants were charged with the same offense were tried together by a jury in the justice’s court.
