The indictment upon which the defendants Jack D. Green and John Francis Began were jointly tried and convicted in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the County of Los Angeles, was in two counts, the first count charged both jointly with having wilfully and feloniously murdered, on or about January 11,1932, in said county of Los Angeles, Hugh A. Crowley, a police officer of the city of Los Angeles.
