This is a bill or petition, filed on May 28,1891, under what is known as the “Burnt Becords” Act, to establish the title in Wead, the petitioner, to lot 4 in block 10 and lots 4,"5, 6, 7 and 8 in block 9 in Allen’s Addition to South Chicago, a subdivision of the E. J S. W. J (west of the river) of Sec'. 18, etc. After alleging his ownership “in fee simple absolute” of said lots and the destruction of the records in Cook County by the great fire of October, 1871, the-petitioner sets forth the various links in his chain of title from the Government to himself.
