Ryan Alenn Smith was convicted of malice murder in the stabbing death of Bubak “Bobby” Soleimani. He appeals from the denial of his motion for new trial. For the reasons that follow, we affirm.

1. The evidence adduced at trial authorized the jury to find that Smith and his co-worker, Cleopatra Mwangi, whom he had just met at his new job, went out after work and found themselves in Midtown Atlanta together around 3:00 a.m. trying to contact friends for a ride home.
