The plaintiffs represent that they are the legal and rightful owners of a tract of land fronting on Black river, having Little river or Catahoula bayou for its upper side line, and containing one thousand acres. That they claim said land in virtue of a confirmation by the United States to Charles Miles in 1812, and a chain of mesne conveyances from those under whom they hold, of record in the parish of Catahoula, beginning as far back as 1809.
