The plaintiff, Carol Cameron, filed a complaint alleging assault and battery, false arrest, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and a violation of the Massachusetts Tort Claims Act. The complaint names Michael J. Carelli *82(Carelli), 2 Gordon Lewis (Lewis), Pacific Mills, Inc. (Pacific Mills), and the city of Lawrence3 as defendants. At the close of the plaintiffs case, Carelli, Lewis, and Pacific Mills filed motions for directed verdicts. The trial judge allowed the motions, and the plaintiff appeals.
