Defendant was charged with damaging five repossessed automobiles which were stored at a collision shop by General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC). Following a jury trial, defendant was convicted of five counts of malicious destruction of personal property resulting in damage in excess of $100, MCL 750.377a; MSA 28.609(1). Defendant was sentenced to three years’ probation, with the first six months to be served in county jail, and ordered to pay costs of $400 and make restitution in the amount of $1,186.50.
