This is an appeal from the decision of the Workmen’s Compensation Board affirming the award of the referee in favor of the claimant and against the insurance carrier. Julian Stankiewicz, the claimant, sustained the loss of his left hand in the course of his employment with the Heights Construction and Supply Company. A claim petition was filed by him, to which the employer, Heights Construction and Supply Company, replied, alleging that its insurance carrier at the time of the accident was the Standard Accident Insurance Company of Detroit, Michigan, which had received notice of the…
