The parties were divorced by a judgment entered on December 3, 1980, in the Hillsdale County Circuit Court. Defendant appeals as of right, contesting the propriety of the property disposition, child support, and alimony award.
At the time of the divorce, plaintiff was 55 years old and employed by Clark Equipment Company (hereinafter Clark Equipment). The parties’ tax returns for the years 1978 and 1979 reveal that in each year plaintiff earned a gross salary of approximately $28,000.
