Appellant, John J. Gumbs, seeks reversal of his convictions for violation of the Criminally Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (“CICO”) under title 14, section 605(a) of the Virgin Islands Code and obtaining money by false pretenses under title 14, section 834(2) of the Virgin Islands Code. I would vacate his conviction on Count II, obtaining money under false pretenses, and affirm his conviction on Count I, specifying a violation of CICO.
