HOGAN, Judge.

In this dissolution of marriage case, appeal is taken from that part of the decree apportioning marital property.

The petitioner and respondent, to whom we shall refer as the husband and the wife, were married in 1948 and were separated finally in 1975. The husband adopted the wife’s daughter by a former marriage, and during their marriage of nearly 27 years, the parties became the parents of three sons. The children are adults; the youngest son was 22 years of age when this action was commenced.
