We granted the application for discretionary appeal filed by Cherokee Warehouses, Inc. d/b/a Cherokee Warehouses Material Handling Division (Cherokee). In five enumerations of error, Cherokee contends that the trial court erred in concluding that it had received valid service of process.

The undisputed facts show that Cherokee was a Tennessee corporation that was registered to do business in Georgia and that it maintained a registered agent in this state for service of process. In 1995, Cherokee sold a forklift to Babb Lumber Company, Inc. Babb Lumber filed suit against Cherokee…
