Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County, defendant, Darnell Tipton, was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual assault and armed robbery. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, pars. 12— 14(a)(1), 18 — 2(a).) Defendant was sentenced to an extended term of 60 years for aggravated criminal sexual assault and 30 years for armed robbery, the sentences to run consecutively.
