The plaintiff, C. V. Kilgore, was a teacher in the grade schools of Molalla, Clackamas county, Oregon, where he had been employed for some time. The defendant was the owner and editor of the Banner Courier, published at Oregon City, Clackamas county, Oregon.
The plaintiff alleges that the defendant maliciously published articles in such newspaper, which were false and defamatory, to his damage.
