This case arose under a contractor’s surety bond. On December 3, 1929, a written contract for the construction of a hotel building at Columbia, S. C., was entered into by the Angle-Blackford Company, a contractor, on the one hand, and the Barringer Hotel interests and W. R. and L. S. Barringer, owners, on the other. On January 18, 1930, certain changes were agreed upon and incorporated in a written agreement called “Addenda.” For convenience we shall refer to these two papers as the first contract.
