On November 29, 1982, the appellants, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin, met *497with an agent of the appellee insurance company to apply for a new policy of automobile insurance covering two automobiles owned by Mr. Ervin. It is undisputed that Mr. Ervin is illiterate and that the application was signed only by Mrs. Ervin. However, it is also undisputed that she signed in her husband’s presence, with the understanding that both she and her husband would be covered under the policy.
