¶ 55 The detective’s characterization of some blood spots shown in photographs of clothing worn by the victim as “cast off’ or “spatter,” and another stain as “transfer,” constituted proper lay opinion testimony because it was based on his direct observations of the photographs, which were in evidence, coupled with reasonable inferences drawn from the photographs, which could be drawn without specialized training.
