| TIn this medical malpractice action, defendant, Christus Health Northern Louisiana d/b/a Christus Schumpert Health System, and intervenor, the Louisiana Patient Compensation Fund (“PCF”), 1 appeal a district court judgment, which entered a jury verdict and award in favor of plaintiffs. For the following reasons, we affirm.

FACTS

Elsie Simmons (“the decedent”) was admitted to Christus Schumpert Medical Center (“Schumpert”) on November 24, 2003, with a chief complaint of rectal bleeding. The decedent, who was 75 years old, had a history of hypertension but, otherwise, was in “pretty good”…
