Salvatore Aucella appeals from the entry of a judgment in the Superior Court (Ken-nebec County, Mead, J.), following a jury verdict in favor of the Town of Winslow on Aucella’s complaint, pursuant to 42 U.S.C.A. § 1983 (1981), 1 seeking damages from the Town for its alleged discrimination against Aucella by its denial to him of the equal protection of the law in violation of the fourteenth amendment to the United States Constitution and article I, section 6-A of the Maine Constitution.
