Dear Representative Iles:

This office is in receipt of your opinion request dated April 24, 1996, in which you present the following issues for our review and response:(1) May a police jury legally move a tax base from one ward to another? If so, what is the legal procedure for doing so?(2) Specific to the newly created second judgeship in the 36th Judicial District, is the judge required by statute to be officed in the district courthouse or may the judge be officed in an adjacent building?
