This was an action in trover commenced by the plaintiffs in error against the defendant in error in the Circuit Court of Peoria county, charging him with having converted to his own use a quantity of what is known as Standard Fireworks,” claimed to have been the property of the plaintiffs in error. The defendant in error was the sheriff of Peoria county, and by virtue of an execution issued in favor of a judgment and execution creditor of Koch Brothers, levied on the goods in question as the property of said judgment debtors, and afterward sold the same, amounting to some $1,100 or $1,200, to…
