LATTIMORE, Judge.
Appellant was convicted in the District Court of Ellis County of the offense of bribery, and his punishment fixed at seven years in the penitentiary.
Appellant was a county commissioner of Hill County during part of the year of 1920. He had held such office for four years and had been defeated for re-election. A number of road districts in the county had voted bonds for the purpose of road improvement. On September 4, 1920, the commissioners’ court voted to sell road bonds and let road contracts to Bibb & Hughes. This indictment against appellant charged him with having agreed…
