Respondent Paloma Andrade appealed from an order of the circuit court that removed her name as a candidate for 14th Ward alderman from the ballot for Chicago’s municipal general election of February 27, 2007. The circuit court had reversed a decision of the Board of Election Commissioners of the City of Chicago (Board) that had overruled the objections of petitioner Rita Rose Ramirez.
