Kim Iann Manning (“Manning”) was denied short-term disability benefits and subsequently terminated from employment by American Republic Insurance Company (“ARIC”). She sought judicial review of the benefits decision under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. 29 U.S.C. § 1132 et seq. She also asserted ERISA retaliation and interference claims.
