From the record in this case, it would seem that a member of the New York State Police presented the defendant with a simplified traffic information charging him, at 3:15 p.m. on the 21st day of February, 1967, on Route 5 in the Town of Schuyler, County of Herkimer, in violation of subdivision (a) of section 1129 of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law, following too closely.
