RAY, Justice.

This is a divorce case. Appellee (petitioner), Mary Ann Long Cordell, petitioned the District Court of Harris County to grant her a divorce from appellant (respondent), Philip Marvin Cordell, III, and to award her the managing conservatorship of their minor child, plus child support and attorney’s fees.
