Following a bench trial in the circuit court of Du Page County, defendant, Corine J. Block was found guilty of theft (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 16 — l(d)(l)) of property not exceeding $300 and was sentenced to a one-year term of probation and ordered to perform 100 hours of public service employment.
