Willie Kendrick claimed that he was injured on December 10, 2007, when, he says, Patrick Dewayne Lewis caused a three-vehicle accident because Lewis did not stop his automobile in time to avoid hitting the car ahead of him, which in turn hit the car ahead of it. Kendrick was the driver of the last car to be struck. On December 3, 2009, Kendrick filed a complaint against Lewis and his insurer, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company (“State Farm”), with the Tuscaloosa circuit clerk’s office, alleging negligence, “gross negligence,” the tort of outrage, and intentional…
