The Attorney General is in receipt of your request for an opinion wherein you ask the following question: "Does the Workers Compensation Act apply to churches and other non-profit organizations? The Workers Compensation Act (the "Act"), as originally enacted, Laws 1915, c. 246, Article I, Section 1 et seq., provided for the payment of compensation for injuries suffered by employees arising out and in the course of "hazardous" employment.
